The Twin Iron Eater Water softener is your protection against water hardness, iron, and manganese. The Twin Alternating Iron Eater whole house water softener is used where there is a demand for soft iron free water at flow rates or capacities higher than those obtainable through a single water softening system.
 
The whole house Iron Eater alternating twin tanks provide an uninterrupted supply of soft iron free water 24 hours a day to your home or business. The Twin Alternating Iron Eater has two tanks for softening and filtering the water. Water is softened and filtered in one tank while the other is in a standby mode. When the softening capacity of the first tank is reached, the system automatically switches tanks. The first tank is then recharged. This cycle is repeated when the second tank reaches its capacity point. Perfect for the home or business the Twin Alternating Iron Eater can remove up to 360,000 grains of hardness and 25ppm of iron every 24 hours.
 
The perfect choice for high iron or where continuous soft water is desired or in high water hardness situations where high salt usage is likely. The whole house Twin Alternating Iron Eater can save you up to 33% in salt savings on water over 50 grains vs. single softener tank unit. That can mount up to 1,000 pounds of salt a year saved.

Twin Alternating Iron Eater Water Softener

This is a self metering backwashing system that automatically removes the trapped contaminants within the filter bed and washes them down the drain. This is accomplished with the electronic control valve that is mounted on top of the Twin Alternating Iron Eater.This valve is controlled by a meter, that calculates the amount of water being used.Once the meter reaches x amount of gallons, It then initiates the backwash cycle that cleans the bed of filtration media and resets it for the next period of filtration. While the first tank is being backwashed the second tank takes over softening and removing iron from your water. This process allows continuous filtration for your home or business.

TheTwin Alternating Iron Eater is fully shipped with filtration media already in the tank. WE DO NOT ship filtration media separately for our customers to pour in.

The system connects to the main line of your home and filters all the incoming water to it. It requires a nearby power outlet for the control valve. Low maintenance. Just add sodium or potassium pellets to brine tank.

The Iron Eater VS. Standard Water Softeners:
Twin Alternating Iron Eater utilizes fine mesh resin on a bed of either fine garnet or Pyrolox. The fineness of the resin creates a filter that is about 5x more effective than standard resins so it does a good job of ferric iron removal with polishing by the garnet or the Pyrolox. The effectiveness on ferrous iron is a function of resin kinetics --- the more often and completely the water touches the resin, the more iron is removed. Kinetics in turn is a function of the surface area of the resin --- area is about 5x greater in fine mesh vs. standard resin. The kinetics is equally important during regeneration. The brine is used more effectively thus the resin cleans better and uses the salt more efficiently. The same concept used for the ferrous iron applies to the removal of hardness.
