Unlike, most multi-piece water
treatment systems that are scattered throughout your business
our WH-RO Series mobile skid mount unit contains complete pretreatment,
reverse osmosis, re-pressurization pump, motor, status lights,
and UVdisinfection all on a single diamond plate base frame with
wheels for easy positioning. To complete our WH-RO Series reverse
osmosis package these units also include a 300gal storage with
float assembly as a standard feature.
Our skid mount WH-RO Series reverse
osmosis systems are designed for applications such as glassware,
rinsing, beverage, solution preparation, and numerous other scientific,
commercial and industrial applications. Water purified by reverse
osmosis has had often greater than 95%of dissolved ions, and
99% of most contaminants removed. Most important our WH-RO Series
reverse osmosis systems are pre-plumbed on the skid and are user
friendly.

This UV system
comes with the feature-laden Platinum™ controller coupled
with the Flow-Pace™ UV intensity monitor. This combination
allows for 2-stage flow pacing whereby half-power is provided
to the lamps in conditions of no flow and full-power when the
water is running. This allows the system to operate with minimal
power requirements and reduced heat build-up. The Platinum™
controller provides constant output current and a universal power
input as well as visually displaying % UV intensity, remaining
lamp life and total hours of operation.
Assurance: SPV-15 UV Ultraviolet Disinfection carries
NSF/ANSI Standard 55, Class A Certification. These units are
ideal for use in any disinfection application where a third-party
validated unit is specified.

5ppm, Manganese is less than 3ppm, Water hardness below 30gpg, pH 6.5 -8.5, No iron bacteria. Calculations
of production capabilities are based on a feed water temperature
of 60 Deg. F. Lower temperatures may result in slightly lower
production levels.

CUSTOM REVERSE OSMOSIS UNITS
- SINGLE PASS REVERSE OSMOSIS
UNITS: 1,500 TO 500,000 GALLONS PER DAY
- These units will remove approximately
99% of all solutes dissolved in the water whether they are salts
or organics such as sugar or dissolved oils. This is done by
a process of diffusion of the water and rejection of the solute
through a membrane. In addition, there will be virtually 100%
removal of bacteria, viruses, cysts, and suspended solids remaining
after pre-filtration because of imperfections in the element
material seldom if ever exceed one or two angstrom units in diameter.

- By passing the treated water
from the first reverse osmosis element(s) through one or more
elements, water qualities of 1.0 to 0.1 micro siemen (1,000,000
to 10,000,000 ohms) are attainable. This is done with single
or multiple pumps and sometimes CO2 scrubbers are employed. This
type of system will often negate the need for deionization and
its associated operating costs and chemical handling dangers.

WHAT IS REVERSE OSMOSIS ?
Reverse osmosis is a
separation process in which dissolved ions, heavy molecular weight
compounds, and particulate matter are removed from a liquid.
The process splits the liquid flow into a purified stream of
liquid which has passed through the membrane (permeate) and a
concentrated stream of liquid which has passed over the surface
of the membrane (concentrate).
- Many factors effect the separation
process, including: pressure, temperature, flow rate, percent
of passage through membrane, amount of matter in raw liquid,
and type of matter in raw liquid. All of these factors must be
considered in the design of the reverse osmosis system. The basic
components of the reverse osmosis system are the membranes and
the pump which drives liquid through the membranes. The balance
of the system componentry is made up of piping and valving to
route fluid through the system, monitoring apparatus, electronic
control of the process, and raw fluid pretreatment.
- As purified water passes through
the membrane it leaves the rejected contaminants behind, concentrating
the solution at the membrane surface. The system must be properly
designed and maintained to avoid the precipitation of these concentrated
contaminants on the membrane surface. Pretreatment processes
such as filtration, ion exchange, antiscalant injection, and
pH adjustment are utilized to assist in preventing membrane fouling.
Properly pretreated feed water is delivered to the membranes
by the pressure boosting pump. As pressure is increased more
water passes through the membrane. The amount of water passing
through the membrane is referred to as flux and is generally
expressed in gallons per square foot of membrane per day (GFD).
Every membrane has a maximum recommended flux. The higher the
flux the more water is produced. Contaminant rejection by the
membrane remains constant and therefore the more water that passes
through the membrane the higher the quality of this permeate
water. It would seem that it would be best to operate membranes
at maximum flux because they would produce the most water and
the highest quality water. However, as more water is produced
more contaminants are left behind and the concentration of contaminants
at the membrane surface increases. High quality system design
utilizes conservative flux values for prolonged membrane life.
Computer design programs predict membrane performance under expected
conditions and generate pressure and flow values for system operation.
After installation and start up of a reverse osmosis system,
the operational values of pressure and flow must be noted. Significant
deviation from these values indicates that system maintenance
is required. RO system maintenance generally consists of prefilter
cartridge changes, mixing and addition of chemicals, and periodic
membrane cleaning. These processes are critical to membrane longevity
and proper system operation.
